Sage Roberts
MA, LMHC

Licensed Mental health Counselor (MH19549)
CERTIFIED EMDR Therapist

Sage is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who earned her Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. She also earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida.

Sage is professionally affiliated with the American Association of Christian Counselors and is trained in integrating faith into therapy upon request. Sage is a certified EMDR therapist with EMDRIA.

Sage specializes in working with individual adults who identify as high-functioning/high-achieving individuals with histories of childhood trauma, lifelong people pleasing, church hurt, and impactful experiences (experiences that changed the way they see themselves, people in their life, and the world around them).

She has worked with clients of a range of adult ages with various concerns including, but not limited to:

Adjustment Issues (feeling stuck, transitioning season, fear of future)
Grief
Relationship Issues (conflict, boundary setting, codependency)
Self Esteem
Trauma History (emotional, mental, and spiritual)

In sessions, Sage utilizes an integrated EMDR approach with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered therapy. This allows clients to focus on seeing, challenging, and/or changing the way that past experiences have impacted the way you view yourself, the world, and those around you. Sage believes having a style that is always adapting and changing to the benefit of the individuality of each client is important. Mindfulness, EMDR, and stability training are cornerstones of her approach as well.

Sage was born and raised in the Tampa area, and although she has lived in different parts of Florida and North Carolina, she is thrilled to be back in her hometown embracing all the growth the city has seen.

When she isn’t working, she enjoys getting outside when the weather is nice with her two dogs. On the rainy days she enjoys pouring a cup of tea and putting on a “lazy jazz cat” playlist on Spotify.

Sage is also an EMDR consultant in training through EMDR International Association working with EMDR therapists toward certification.
