Registered mental health counselor intern (IMH25946) ACCELERATED RESOLUTION THERAPY (ART) TRAINED
Hi there, I’m Josie!
I work with achievement-driven young adults who struggle on the inside with constant worry, people pleasing, and covering up their hurt. You may be tired of not feeling like yourself. It’s hard to even know who that person is at times because you’re spread so thin, feeling you’re always letting someone down. You may try to keep everything together while navigating school, professional life, a ministry role, family relationships, or marriage and let’s be honest, it’s lonely at times and you need a safe space to bring your concerns without judgment. I would love to provide that space for you so you can show up more fully as a student, spouse, friend, or any of the other many roles you own. Having my own experiences with this (which will differ from yours), you will be met with understanding. I know the value of finding clarity and confidence to be more authentically you!
Imagine gaining confidence in yourself and decision making abilities, having healthy boundaries to take back your time and energy so you can focus on what really matters to you. Imagine being present and connected with the things you truly value, having better sleep and going through your day without racing thoughts, no longer running on empty or feeling weighed down by your past.
We will first initially meet to get a sense of what your needs are and where I can help. You may feel vulnerable initially but our pace, what you disclose, and how we approach solutions and coping is completely up to you. I will use the intervention that I think will best help at the time. These interventions may look like ways to calm your mind, different communication tools to use with a roommate or family member, or work through trauma that is keeping you stuck. We may go for a walk and talk at the park by the office (usually during less humid months), laugh, cry, or pray together. You can come in your work uniform, your sweats, between classes, or on your lunch break. Your well-being is not the easiest to prioritize but when you do, change will come and bring a ripple effect to those around you.
Like my clients, you deserve to walk into each day with assurance that you can confidently handle whatever the day holds, without doubting yourself.
If you’re ready to find relief from constant worry and pressure, I’m here to support you!
