Grace Heinlein

Graduate Intern

I have always been passionate about journeying alongside people, and counseling has allowed me to pursue my passion. Prior to moving to Tampa, I served in the Bronx for two years. I mainly worked with children, helping them to realize their worth, strengths, and identity. I’m a counselor who provides a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and concerns.

I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Catholic Anthropology from the University of Mary. I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Political Science from the University of Miami.

For my approach to counseling, I integrate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with a person-centered and strengths-based approach. Using CBT, we'll work together to identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that may be contributing to your struggles. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and I'm here to guide and support you on your journey.

I have a passion for helping adults and adolescents in the following areas, but not limited to:

  • depression, anxiety, stress, or life transitions

  • people coping with relationships, self-esteem, or communication issues

  • anyone seeking personal growth and self-discovery

I strive to treat the whole person from a Catholic-based anthropology. Although I am Christian, I enjoy working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and beliefs. As a counselor, I seek to create a safe and supportive environment where I can work collaboratively with you to meet your goals. Everyone deserves to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life, and I am passionate about guiding individuals towards this.

In my free time, I enjoy traveling, going to the beach, and spending time in nature. I also love spending quality time with my family and friends.

I’d love to connect with you and talk more to see if I may be a good fit as your counselor!
